Work Harder

It’s crazy to wake up one day and realize; you could be doing so much more.

Today I had a major epiphany; I’m not trying that hard.

Maybe it’s because I don’t have a lot of close friends, but I always kind of assumed that most of the people around me who were good at things… were just good at them! I thought the pretty people were just pretty, the popular people were just popular, the math kids were just good at math, and the ASB kids just had a knack for organization and planning.

Come to realize I was totally wrong.

Apparently, most of the people with amazing bodies are counting calories, weighing food, working out several times a day (hard!) and following very strict diets. The girls with who look amazing spend hours planning outfits, straighten their hair every day, and have vanities full of carefully-chosen makeup. The gymnasts with the gold medals are stretching all day, training all week, and eating salad, salad, and more salad. In other words, the people getting it done are working their asses off.

And I’m not.

I’ve always wondered why it seemed like I just wasn’t good at anything and everyone else was. Then I woke up today and realized; I’m just not working as hard as everyone else.

Good to know.
